Does any know the exact reasons why the deceased actor Rodney Harvey went to jail and prison?

Rodney Harvey played in the Outsiders t.v. series, Salsa, and My Own Private Idaho. He died of an overdose in 1998. I know he went to jail and prison several times but can't find out why. Can anyone tell me the exact charges (not just due to his drug use cuz I already know that)? Thank you...
