What do I do when I no longer have faith in Humanity?

I remember as a child being taught how harmful racism and ism bigotry are and I don't know maybe I was one of those idealistic youths that believed what the adults told me and as long as i did what i could I could change the world in my own little way. That was the mid 80's and now Im a 29 yr blk gay male educated living what an average american would consider "the good life" however, I've resigned myself in believing people are inherently evil. I have grown so weary of the racial debates the ual orientation debates. Its a cliche but why CANT we get along???? Please I know I cant stop the ignorant people from answering but that just validates why you and my children should all take a sip of the jim jones cool-aide and see if god can get it right next time. So please Intelligent replies
